Slap N’ Tickle Strain Review | SweetWater Farms

Slap N’ Tickle Strain Review | SweetWater Farms

Slap N’ Tickle strain from SweetWater Farms, much more than just a name to snicker and giggle at. When this one popped into our dispensary there was no shortage of eyebrow raises at the ever so curious name, a name that despite its obvious tongue and cheek intentions delivers in a rather unexpected but should have been obvious way.

SweetWater Farms Hand Crafted and Slow Cured

I have had the joy of experiencing SweetWater Farms for the first time since starting work in the industry, specifically here at White Rabbit. From the use of living soil, to artificial pesticide free organic growing methods, and adherence to the small craft production mentality, you begin to understand why it is “all about the terps” since 2015 with these guys.

How I Review Strains

First, what the industry refers to what is commonly called “strains” are technically called “cultivars”. This is the scientifically and botanically correct way to refer to different genetic varieties in plants. The term strain is used in reference to bacteria or viruses, neither of which cannabis is. Much like changing terminology to “cannabis” rather than “marijuana”, we should also correct the terminology when referring to plants, which cannabis is. As the industry matures you will likely see the term “cultivar” more and the term “strain” less. For the sake of familiarity, I will use the term strain throughout this and future reviews.

Secondly, I like to do my reviews using a butane heated dry herb vape for a couple of reasons. I dislike combustion (former smoker, no longer a fan), and I love flavor. Butane powered vapes are the way to go for pure flavor in my opinion, if you have not given one a shot yet you should do yourself a favor and get one.

Ok off of my reviewer soap box, on to the review!

The Review of Slap N’ Tickle

Slap N’ Tickle (SnT) is more than just a name, it is also a verb when it comes to this strain. As stated prior I went into this not knowing what to expect. This was my first experience with SweetWater, and I didn’t know if it was just a silly name, or if this was a beast to be reckoned with. Fortunately it turned out to be the latter. Boasting a THC content of 27% (at the time of this writing, there are variations from batch to batch), SnT comes ready to play.

The buds are a beautiful deep green with orange hairs, revealing its Grape Pie genetics on breaking up and showing just enough violet to assure you it’s in there. Catch the light and you will see the sweet frosty trichomes glistening like black ice in the middle of winter. The sweet grape fuel aroma with a slight hint of hay further solidifies its GMO and Grape Pie parenting. Grandpa Chemdawg (GMO lineage) lets itself be known in the aroma and flavor as well. The flavor carries that heavy GMO/Chemdawg flavor with the after breath leaving you with the sweet hint of the grape, coffee, and fuel.

Smoke and Effect

Once you exhale that initial hit, you feel the effects start to creep up pleasantly on you, which is not the unexpected part. It was the SLAP, and yes I put that in caps on purpose, that was unexpected. It’s not the kind of slap where your friend runs up on you and gives you a smack across the face, oh no, it was the kind of slap that one moment you are enjoying the exhale, and the next you are staring at your device wondering how much time has passed and you could easily continue pondering that question for hours.

Then comes the tickle portion of the name, and yes that happens as well. First I noticed pretty much head to toe numbness, and then everything was tingling. It felt like I was taking Niacin for the first time, but not nearly as intense, in fact it was quite pleasant.

A+ Strain from an A+ Farm

Over the years as both a cannabis civilian and now an industry worker, I have tried many strain but nothing has hit me like Slap N’ Tickle. Not likely to be something a new cannabis user wants to go hard with but in measured doses. Even for an experienced connoisseur you may want to start out slow with this one.

SnT is an instant classic that has earned my love and respect, and if you give it a chance it might just become a favorite of yours too!
