Professor Chaos Strain Review | Mr. Greenthumb

Professor Chaos by Mr. Greenthumb, a fan favorite amongst all who have tried it (budtenders included). But what makes the Professor so popular? With its green-yellow hue, the glistening trichomes, its fluffy buds, and the lovely aroma of citrus and pine, it is already enough to make you fall in love with this strain. However, there is much more to the Professor to be explored. A delightful cross between Jack the Ripper, a Sativa Dominant Hybrid, and Mad Scientist, an Indica Dominant Hybrid. Professor Chaos is known for having a unique effect that is both energizing and relaxing.

Mr. Greenthumb Profile

Mr. Greenthumb is an i502 producer here in Washington State, with delicious cultivars such as Agent Orange, Ice Cream Cake, Wedding Cake, and Professor Chaos. It is with a heavy heart that I notify the readers that Mr. Greenthumb is closing their doors. So I will be doing two back-to-back reviews in the coming days of Professor Chaos and then Agent Orange. It is critical that you visit the White Rabbit and try their strains while you still have the opportunity!

Professor Chaos Bud Breakdown

The buds are long and fluffy, with gleaming trichomes interlacing the exterior and interior, and they are sticky and resinous. The aroma carries a pungent citrus and pine scent that is both refreshing and inviting. The flavor carries with it a light citrus flavor, with a clove bite at the end. Professor Chaos clocks in on this batch at a total THC of 24.7% with just around 3% terpenes. I do like a good strain that you can taste and feel, and you get that feel and flavor from the full terpene profile with this strain. Professor Chaos brings Limonene to the party to give you that energizing, focused feel, while the other terpenes fulfill the more relaxing side of the Professor. I find its energizing qualities interesting as Limonene is not even the most dominant terpene in this strain, yet it delivers as if it is the boss. Perhaps the way it interacts with the other terpenes explains this effect. Caryophyllene, Myrcene, and Linalool are reported to provide relaxing and happy-like qualities in different doses.

Toke ‘N Report

Run number one is in my vaporizer, which I ran at a low temp to get a feel for the flavor, but wow, the effects are kicking in fast and it feels amazing. I can now see why this strain is so popular, as it has very quickly jumped to my favorite Sativa spot. I am looking forward to my second run, which will be hot and heavy for full effects.

For the second round, I decided I was going to do this one through my water piece. I am still vaporizing for full flavor effect, but am now able to take much hotter and bigger hits. Wow, even at hotter temps, the citrus clove cuts through, giving that delicious flavor, and once again, the effects are hitting fast and hard, in a very good way. I liken this feeling at the moment to someone giving my brain a massage, or at least this is what I imagine it would feel like. It’s safe to say Professor Chaos is definitely a good guy and not the evil character fans of South Park are familiar with.

For my third appointment with the Professor, I ran through my glass spoon pipe, using a hemp wick so as to keep the flame as pure as possible. Obviously, the terpenes are going to burn up a little more, which will equate to not quite as much flavor, and the combustion smoke overpowers it a little. That being said, I was fairly impressed with how the terpene profile was still able to pull through the smoke. The citrus clove flavor, while no longer prominent, is still there in the undertones. The high, of course, is still rock solid and all the effects of Professor Chaos are there.

Professor Chaos is packed full of these terpenes providing a refreshing citrus clove flavor. In addition a consumer may experience a euphoric and energizing yet physically calming high all at the same time. The major euphoric effects occurs almost instantly, with a strong staying power. I felt the euphoria the strongest for the first couple of hours, and while it does dissipate over time even 4 hours later I was still feeling the slight euphoric effects, and the full on body and head effects lasted for around 4-6 hours.

The Final Puff

As I sit here enjoying my final puff of the review sample, I find myself contemplating. How does a producer that creates such a wonderful product not make it?  There are many factors, and it is not the first grower/producer with great flower to suddenly shutter their doors. It is a testament to how difficult it is to be successful in this industry. I am happy that I got to enjoy Mr. Greenthumb flower, and that we have enough in the dispensary that I still have some time to enjoy it. It is just a bummer to see such a phenomenal product no longer coming to market.

Professor Chaos is my number one Sativa now, and even though Mr. Greenthumb is no more, I will continue to hunt for this strain from another producer who gives it the same justice as Greenthumb did. While user experiences may vary, if you are looking for a great relaxing yet energetic and creative high, with full on effects that last well past the 4 hour mark not to mention the longer potential therapeutic effects, Professor Chaos is going to be your go to cultivar. This one will stay in my rotation for quite some time.

Make sure to come down to the White Rabbit, and pick up some Professor Chaos from Mr. Greenthumb while it lasts! I will be putting up another review in the coming days of another flower of theirs that I am sure you will all enjoy as well.
