Hectane Strain Review | 4206
The name Hectane, it almost sounds like some futuristic fuel source that we will all be charged way too much for I am sure, or a UFC fighter nickname, like “Anderson “The Hectane” Silva” (no disrespect to The Spider, that was just the first fighter name that popped into my head).
Fortunately for all of us, Hectane is neither, at least not now in 2022. Well then, as your collective minds are all asking, what is it then?
Hectane by 4206 is a 70/30 indica-dominant strain that crosses Hi Tech with Project 4516. With a history of high potency and a lasting high, this is one that I am excited to try out. I am already a fan of 4206, having already done a review of their Pandora’s Box. Let’s take a look at the genetic lineage to see what exactly goes into making this curiously named strain.

The THC level, while moderate to some, is still a respectable number, especially when you take into consideration the terpenes involved with this cultivar. Remember, people, it’s all about the entourage effect, and THC is only a part of that.

Review
The is the experience of the reviewer and not to be taken as any type of medical advice.
Appearance: 8 – Nice sized dense buds with light trichome frosting. I would prefer these in a glass jar to appreciate them more and make them recyclable, but I understand Mylar is just more cost effective. A little drier than I like, however I would rather a bud be too dry than too much moisture. Moisture can lead to mold, and it just burns the throat anyway. A Boveda pack can go a long way with any bud to get it to the right moisture level.
Aroma: 9 – A big whiff of sour lemons, diesel, and white pepper. I am always a fan of the gas, and the way this blends with the citrus and pepper is really nice. I find myself almost salivating with anticipation.
Flavor: 9 – Similar to the aroma, but interestingly enough, the sour lemon aroma turned into a sweet sour berry flavor, with a slight hint of mint, and then of course, the diesel and pepper. It was quite a complex palate, actually, but very delicious.
Effect: 9 – This almost instantly made me feel happy, relaxed, creative, and euphoric. Hectane certainly delivers on its reputation, as the effects hit fast and lasted a long time. I felt the effects for roughly 4 hours, all the while relaxed but able to game at full capacity, and then slept like a baby.
Overall score out of 10: 8.75 – Must Have
Final Puff
4206 is, in my view, one of the best newer growers in the PNW as of late. They put out consistent, top-quality, pesticide-free products. Their weed has amazing quality, flavor, aroma, and effects, and Hectane is no different. My experience with Hectane gave me some creative spark mentally while still keeping me in a relaxed, focused state. In fact, as far as indica hybrids go, this one seems like it would be a great gaming session strain, or, as I like to call it, a video game “slayer.” Hectane is a cultivar that will keep you going, feeling good, and making your online buddies look bad, but when you are ready to crash, it’s there to help you there as well.
